There have never been so many cycling clubs in Ireland. Most encourage new members and welcome visiting cyclists to join them on their club spins. Many also have local sponsors who support the clubs and deserve to be supported in return.

I want to help clubs and their sponsors by dedicating an individual page of this blog to each and every club and highlighting one club every day for a year here and on facebook and twitter. This will also be a directory of clubs which will make it easy for new cyclists to find a nearby club and for visiting cyclists to find a group to train with.

If you would like your club to be featured just drop me a line with the following information along with links to your sponsors websites if possible.

Details of club sent to you Barry. This is a great idea… If you’re not too busy on September 13th why not join us on our annual cycle challenge. I think there might be a hill there that you may have climbed once or twice… The grub is great afterwards in Dundrum House…

Thanks Sean. First in, best dressed 🙂 The Rapparee Cycle Club are now the first club of the day to be listed. Mike was telling me about your cycle which goes up a climb that I’m pretty familiar with. Best grub of the year by the sounds of it too !

I would be interested to contact any recumbent or Human Powered Vehicle riders in S. Ireland.

We will have a zoom meeting in the next few days for the EHPV and it would be great to have participation from S. Ireland. So far the countries are:
Germany, Netherlands, France, UK, Finland, Denmark, Sweden etc.

I am in the US, and coming to Ireland with my daughter and granddaughter next week. We are interested in biking for 3 days, and want to have the best 3 day experience. We fly into Shannon, and are considering the Ennis to Doolin to Galway route, or using Killarney as a base and doing day trips to Gap of Dunloe, Ring of Kerry and Killarney National Park. We would then rent a car to travel to County Cork and Wexford where my family is. We are considering renting e-bikes, even though we are all experienced bikers, just so we can cover more territory…..Does anyone have any suggestions?….are these routes feasible and recommended, or is there something else that might work better for us? Your help is greatly appreciated!
