Knomo Cromwell Cycling backpack

Just like most cyclists I have a range of rucksacks and gear bags. Some are souvenirs from events, others were purchased with a special purpose in mind that became soon forgotten, but I still usually find myself with one over my shoulder.

Recently I was sent a Knomo Cromwell bag to try out and it has quickly become my go-to cycling backpack. I used to like lots of pockets and compartments but this has less pockets which creates much more space to fit your cycling kit plus the few other essentials that you need

The other bonus is that it’s fully waterproof. It looks like something that you could throw into a lake fully loaded and come back a week later to find everything still bone dry. The roll top closing system is a great idea that really works well.

The Knomo bag is light and comfortable to wear too. On and off the bike, both when the sun is shining or when the rain is bucketing down.

For a compact looking backpack I managed to easily pack all of the following items into it :

  • 3 x Gillets
  • 1 x Rain Cape
  • 1 x Rain Jersey
  • 1 x Winter Jacket
  • 3 x Short Sleeve Jerseys
  • 3 x Pairs of Shorts
  • 1 x Pair of Bib Longs
  • 2 x Colour Sheets
  • Socks
  • Mitts
  • Cap
  • Laptop
  • iPad

The lack of external pockets and pouches means that it slides easily into car footwells or overhead baggage compartments on planes.
