Leman 24 hour Samaritans

Everyone who cycles a bike gets so much from the activity that they very often choose to give something back. In a spirit echoing the movie ‘Pay it Forward’ starring Kevin Spacey, many cyclist choose to help others less fortunate by doing something out of the ordinary.

Charity cycles begin at a 10k level and as fitness improves build up past the 100k level on up to the likes of the 180k Ring of Kerry, which now almost has the status of a right of passage.

Beyond that are the more ambitious and extreme challenges, which are still undertaken by ordinary cyclists, albeit ones who train a lot.

This weekend another of those ambitious, extreme and admirable challenges is about to take place. A group of Solicitors from the Leman firm based in Dublin have set themselves the challenge of cycling 530km in 24 hours with the aim of raising €24,000 for the Samaritans 24 Hour helpline.

The cycle will start from outside Leman Solicitors offices in Percy Place, Dublin at 4pm on Friday 11th September and the lawyers will cycle through the night. The route will take in Samaritans branches in Dundalk, Newry, Galway, Limerick and will finish in Kilkenny at 4pm on Saturday 12th. If you see them anywhere along the way be sure to offer some well deserved encouragement and support.

Very best of luck to all involved.
