This night next week, on Thursday June 20th a very special free event is taking place in Ryan Motor Power Clonmel.

A panel of guest speakers are going to give an insight into what it takes to be successful at every level of your life, all of which will revolve around a sporting theme.

The speakers are :

 

Sean Kelly

World number one cyclist for 6 years in a row and ranked teh second most successful cyclist of all time.

Sean grew up on a small farm just outside Carrick on Suir and through sheer determination and a huge hunger to succeed made it to the very pinnacle of Global sport.

With 193 professional victories including 10 Classics, 7 Paris Nice and the Vuelta D’Espagna Sean always manages to thrill and entertain with his tales from inside the peloton.

 

Gerard Hartmann

7 Time All Ireland Triathlon champion and physical therapist to the Worlds leading athletes, musicians and business people. Gerard grew up in Limerick and rose to national prominence as a runner first before becoming a trend setter in the sport of Triathlon. A crash of the bike in the USA whilst there e on a scholarship halted his career but one door closing opened another as he discovered a rare talent for healing injured athletes. A talent which has seen him become the physical therapist of choice for the likes of Paula Radcliffe, Sonia O’Sullivan, Bono, Dermot Desmond amongst many others.

 

Gerry Duffy

At 27 Gerry Duffy was overweight and smoked 40 cigarettes per day. A chance meeting with his sporting icon Seve Ballesteros led to a life changing moment of decision. Within weeks the cigarettes were gone and replaced by short runs. The runs got longer and soon became tied into swims and cycles. Setting new targets and achieving them regularly Gerry decided to think way outside the box and entered a deca Iron-man triathlon. That is 10 consecutive full distance ironman triathlons in a single event. The achievement of that goal has led to a new career inspiring others to set their own goals and achieve them.

 

Rachael Blackmore

Growing up in Killenaule Rachael Blackmore had a great love for horses. That passion turned into a career and she is now a groundbreaking jockey whose list of achievements is spectacular. She is now well on course to become the first ever female Irish champion jump jockey and with victories in places like the World famous Cheltenham festival who could bet against her.

 

MC on the night will be Ronan Quirke.

A popular and knowledgable sports presenter on Tipp Fm by night and a pharmacist by day, Ronan always manages to ask the right questions to get the very most out of each guest.
