Markus from cyclefilm had a look at Cancellara’s SRM computer after yesterday’s race . Here’s what it takes to win The Tour of Flanders ;
Cancellara SRM data from #Flanders: Avg.Speed:40km/h –
Avg.Cad:73 –
Avg.HR:143 –
Avg.Power:285W
Max.Speed:80km/h –
Max.Cad:147 –
Max.HR:190 –
Max.Power:1450W –
Tot.Calories: 6459
At 1450 Watts Tornado Tom was blown away !

Doesn’t it say 145 not 1450?
Hi Chris . The SRM only has 3 digits in that display . I guess they reckon once you go over 999 watts you won’t be doing too much looking at your computer š
But didn’t he change bikes ?
Well spotted Derek . He had an SRM on both bikes so the max figures all happened after the bike change and the totals were an accumulation of both .

if you use this http://bikecalculator.com/wattsUS.html and assume there was no wind he must have dropped boonen at around 17.5 miles an hour (if he dropped him on the steepest part)
I’d have trouble doing 17.5 mph on the flat some days . Just shows again what a motorbike Cancellara is !
